New York Giants Tickets- Trying To Make It Two

Unlike some years past, New York Giants tickets because increasingly hard to get as the 2007 season progressed. Maybe the hardest to get were the ones to last year’s Super Bowl game, where the Giants took the championship against the favored New England Patriots. With all of their celebrations, it seems like they should be able to take a well-deserved break, but that is the last thing that the Giants are looking to do. Instead, they are back at training camp making sure that every position is perfected and every drill is run at 100 percent. They realize what some teams forget: hard work wins games. Yes, they are a talented team, but it was that bit of extra effort that brought home the championship. While training camp is often a time to hone players’ skills and get them back into playing condition, the Giants can focus more on their plays because their team has kept themselves in tip-top shape during the offseason and have come back in even better shape that when the season ended. Who knows what those who got New York Giants tickets will have the treat of seeing during the first games of the season, but it certainly won’t be a starting lineup that is out of shape.

The team, like most, is fighting through some injuries in order to get everyone healthy for the start of the season, including wide receiver David Tyree, who is nursing a knee injury. Even the players who are injured, however, seem to be feeling the urgency to get better, work harder and win games. If possible, the team seems hungrier and more eager than ever.

One of the more celebrated players from the Super Bowl squad was quarterback Eli Manning. His Super Bowl win meant the second in as many years for the Manning family with his brother Peyton Manning winning in 2006. Eli Manning is ready to once again lead his team to football greatness, but wouldn’t mind doing it in a similar fashion to last year’s win. Last year, the Giants seemed to be the underdogs in more situations than just the Super Bowl. Not being “the team” to beat has its advantages and made victory even sweeter. Regardless of how they do it, fans who have New York Giants tickets will surely be looking for a lot of wins this season after last year.

New York Giants’ Outlook For 2010 NFL

Getting started the 2009 season pretty strong as they got out of the 5-0 gate, the New York Giants couldn’t sustain the form from earlier in the season. There was only three won games for the rest of the way for the Giants to place third in the NFC East. After they had won 12 games and the NFC East Title in 2008, their 2009’s season was a major letdown. The defense that allowed 26.7 points per game (30th NFL) was a severe disappointment while the offense had done well on their part with 25.1 points scored per game (8th NFL). It’s going to take a much stronger defense in 2010 for them to aim for an NFC East Title this year.

Offense: Led by Eli Manning, New York put a pretty explosive offensive unit on the field in 2009. Manning threw for 4,021 yards and 27 touchdowns, helping the Giants boast one of the best passing attacks in the NFC.

Pro Bowler Steve Smith joined with Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham to form a very productive receiving unit. The trio combined for 211 catches, 2,832 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Giants also got solid production from tight end Kevin Boss, and Travis Beckum figures to play a bigger role this year.

The Giants became more of a pass-first team last season, but head coach Tom Coughlin prefers to set up the pass with the run, just as he did when the Giants won Super Bowl XLII. As long as Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw can stay healthy, the Giants can get back to running the football behind one of the better lines in the league.

Defense: After the defense gave up 40 or more points in five different games last season, it was time for Bill Sheridan to move on. The organization is very excited about new defensive coordinator Perry Fewell and his aggressive scheme. With Fewell calling the defensive signals, we should see New York’s pass rush come back to life.

It was New York’s ferocious pass rush that did Tom Brady and the Patriots in on Super Bowl Sunday a few short seasons ago. That season, the Giants totaled an impressive 53 sacks. They got after the quarterback again in 2008 with 42 sacks. But last season, New York only tallied 32 quarterback sacks. Fewell is going to do all he can to have New York living in the backfield again. Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck will both be looking for bounce back campaigns, and they’ll be aided by first round draft pick Jason Pierre-Paul.

If the pass rush comes back, the pass defense should be rock solid now that safety Antrel Rolle joins a quality defensive backfield.

Prediction: 2nd NFC East – The Dallas Cowboys appear to be ahead of the Giants as we the 2010 season nears, but New York has enough pieces to be right in the mix for an NFC East crown come December. I ultimately have the Giants coming up just short, but this is a team with the potential to do some damage as a Wild Card, just as they did when they won the Super Bowl three years ago. Be sure to check out my 2010 NFL predictions to see which teams I have winning the other seven divisions.

All Eyes on New York Giants for 2008 NFL Sports Betting Season

After their recent Super Bowl victory the New York Giants can’t be doing much better – so will they be facing their demise this year?

These world champs put a stop to New England last season and are exceptionally notable for their 10 game on the road winning streak. The team is also known for their amazing pass rushers last season. But again, this is all behind us and in the past. What does this team have coming up in their future?

Shall we face the music? The Giants are the worst team in the NFC East, according to the lines and odd’s from the Olympic bookmakers. Currently they are showing Dallas as the favorite at -$ 1.85 then Philly at +$ 3.25 followed by Washington at +$ 4.25 and finally the Giants at +$ 4.45.

According to Olympic is concerned the Giants odds stand at higher than 22-1. Station Casino is reporting the Detroit Lions at 17-1 Super Bowl odds. It will be interesting to see how this prediction comes back on Station Casino.

Based on the aforementioned odds, things are not looking good for the Giants in 2008. Let’s see what other problems the Giants are facing this season.

Michael Strahan retired earlier than he needed to resulting in the Giants loosing one of their key players. We can’t forget that the Giants star tight end Jeremy Shockey got traded off. Not to mention that after the win many players on the team had a huge ego boost and dedicated more time to celebrating and partying – as opposed to focusing on how to maintain their title.

In addition to all of this hoopla, many other key players had problems with contract negotiations and that could result in the team taking an even harder hit. When asked to comment on the teams current situation, Giants team coach Tom Coughlin made reference to numerous members of the team lacking focus and as a result of that, being out of shape.

Can history repeat itself? Looking back to when the Giants won the Super Bowl in 1987 and 1991, and the NFC champs in 2001, they could not even manage to make the playoffs the following seasons. In fact, these clubs managed to be a combined 21-26. So will the Giants pattern of ups and downs continue? Looking back at last season the Giants biggest accomplishment was when they LOST to New England 38-35. Luckily, they managed to get their act together for post-season. Looking back on the regular season for the Giants we see that 10 teams had equal, if not better records. For example, Dallas beat New York twice and in total they won by a combined 21 points. Green Bay even managed to defeat the Giants by 22 points while on the road. Yet, with this record they pulled through and managed to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.

GTLT Sports Handicapping Service ended their season with a 68% win record. Winning 102 NFL sports picks and only losing 45.

Most people look back at Eli Manning’s relaxed and collected form of play during the NFC championship and the Super Bowl. Everyone seemed to forget about his embarrassing seven completion and two-interception performance at Buffalo only two weeks prior to the playoffs. But now Manning was showing that he was able to win bigger games. All of this inconsistency is most likely the reason that he’s the number three quarterback in his division, as opposed to first or second. But is his performance just reflective of the Giants own inconsistency?

Looking at other issues the Giants face we see that Brandon Jacobs is considered injury prone, not to mention Ahmed Bradshaw having legal issues. Plus, other than Plaxico Burress, there aren’t many receiving threats to be too worried about.

The Giants maintain a strong offense but once Strahan retires everyone is speculating if their defense will slip. He was noted for being one of the greatest two-way defensive ends. He was also an outstanding pass rusher and run-stuffer. New York’s secondary is nothing to write home about.

What more? The team’s players don’t care much for coach Coughlin. This could lead to a media instigated meltdown on the team.

When the Giants come out of their bye in week 5 they are facing a long hard stretch including games against Seattle, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Dallas and Philadelphia. If they don’t manage to survive that six week span of games after the bye things can only go from bad to worse.

Quick look at how the Giants will do as far as fantasy sports. Well, Eli Manning is most likely extremely overrated because of his recent Super Bowl victory. He really isn’t one to chase after for your fantasy team.

How about Brandon Jacobs? Because of his all-too-often tendency to get hurt he didn’t even manage to make the top 15 running backs. Not to mention Couglin not giving Jacobs any goal line carries. In fact Jacobs only managed to score four rushing touchdowns last season.

Are the Giants Able to Repeat a 2007 Super Bowl Victory Performance in 2009?

There are few teams are able to generate the level of enthusiasm of the famed New York Giants football team when exciting sports play is coming up. The fans for this squad have a strong belief in the strength of their NFL dynasty , and all of the home games are played before packed stands. There has been high demand for New York Giants tickets, and support for the franchise has existed even during the team’s earliest years that began in the Roaring Twenties.

Tim Mara Steps into History with a New Football Franchise

The franchise for the New York Giants was bought by Tim Mara in 1925 for the princely sum of $ 500. In just the first year he had to spend $ 25 thousand dollars for the team to remain a viable sports entity. The Giants team was considered crucial if the NFL was to gain fans and national media attention. New York Giants tickets were sell outs when the big day approached for the team to compete against the Chicago Bears. The Bears had just contracted Red Grange to play for them and were thought to be the sure winners of the match. When the Giants won the fans went wild for their home team.

Hall of Fame Spotlight

The New York Giants Football team is legendary and for good reason. The football squad can trace its beginnings back to the 1920s, and many Hall of Fame members once played for this northern sports dynasty. Alphonse Leemans, Roosevelt Brown, Morris Badgro, Lawrence Taylor and Tom Landry are only a few of the names that have been enshrined at the Football Hall of Fame.

New York Giants Highlight Moments

The New York Giants completed their first season with a record of 11-1-1 with Steve Owen in control. They capped the 1927 by winning the NFL championship title over the Bears 13-7. This game is still a huge highlight in Giants’ history.

The New York Giants have always been run as a family business and the team has continued to rack up impressive wins through the many decades of play. Once division play began in 1933 this NY team won 8 division titles. The New York Giants clinched the NFL championship in both 1934 and 1938. The Giants also laid claim to a 1956 NFL title and would add six NFL East Championships to their record books between the years 1956 and 1963. More division triumphs for this sports powerhouse came in 1986, 1989 and 1990.

The Glory of a Super Bowl Win

The New York Giants were able to bring home the elusive Super Bowl Championship in 2007 to the delight of their fans. This Super Bowl win was especially meaningful because it was over the formerly unbeaten New England Pats. The success of the football team made the demand for New York Giants tickets go through the roof. It seemed as though almost everyone in New York was suddenly trying to find tickets for the next Giants’ football game. The 2009 season should be another time for the team to shine and already fans have locked in the best seats they can find as they anticipate a stellar team performance.

The New York Jets are Ready to Soar Over the Competition in 09

The New York Jets share the Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey with the New York Giants. Today the Jets belong to the Eastern division of the AFC and they train at their Florham Park, New Jersey facility. In 2010 the new Meadowlands Stadium will be open and this will become the new home for the players. The team is a favorite of fans who search for New York Jets tickets before the spring training is even underway. The Jets have become a big draw for sports lovers in the New York area.

Franchise Tidbits

In 1960 the New York Jets were a charter member in the American Football League although they then played under the name New York Titans. When new owners purchased the team franchise in 1963 they changed the name of the team to the Jets. The New York Jets were the first American Football League team to mark a victory over a National Football League team during a Championship title match. This occurred when the NY team beat the Baltimore Colts for the crown in the 3rd Super Bowl.

Jets Quiet the NewYork Jets Games

When the New York Titans played home games at Polo Grounds fans showed up in less than overwhelming numbers. The team was bringing in some respectable wins but they just did not have the appeal to attract a large fan base. The Titans were sold to a group of businessmen who renamed them and relocated the team to Shea Stadium. Fans who attended the early Jets games still talk of how the sound of overhead jets at LaGuardia would often drown attempts at any conversation in the stadium.

The Appearance of “Broadway Joe”

The mid sixties were an impressive time for the New York Jets when they acquired a new quarterback from Alabama. Once “Broadway Joe” Namath came to the team’s ranks there was an immediate surge in requests for New York Jets tickets. Namath proved to be a stellar player and in 1967 he became the first pro quarterback to pass for more than 4000 yards in a single season. He also led the team to an 8-5-1 season. The Jets won the AFL championship on Dec 29th of 1969 when they defeated the Oakland Raiders team.

A Promise Delivered

This signified that the American Football League was a definite threat in the football world dominated by the more popular NFL teams. Prior to taking the field against the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III Namath made the prediction that his team would win, in fact he guaranteed fans of a win. Joe Namath delivered on this promise and the Jets chalked up a 16-7 win over the heavily favored Colts. There could have been many more amazing years for the Jets with Namath as quarterback but his knees would fail him early and prevent him from repeating his outstanding performances of the past.

Favre Adds Fuel to the Jets Defense

The following years were full of down periods for the Jets but in 2008 they traded with the Packers for Brett Favre. The Jets had decided to release their own quarterback in order to use Favre’s talents. They had planned to select the quarterback during the NFL draft in 1991 but he was chosen before the Jets had a chance to close the deal.

Favre had some stunning moments including a game against the Cardinals where he completed 6 touchdown passes. As Brett Favre continued to help the team post wins the fans pushed New York Jets ticket sales higher. The Jets were only able to manage a 9-7 record for 2008 and this was not enough to put them into the playoffs. The 2009 season for this football team could end with them as one of the contenders for the Super Bowl crown.
