New York City (NYC) Conference Call Services

New York City (NYC) conference call services are available with a local 212 call in number. So if you are a business or non-profit located in the Big Apple, this could be an ideal solution to your conferencing needs.

Signing up with a conference call service that provides a 212 call in number located in New York City satisfies a number of potential issues and certainly provides many advantages.

First, if most of your conference participants are calling from the greater New York City area, they can dial a local number to get into the conference call. This avoids any long distance charges they may otherwise incur by using a call in number located in another state. Most of the commercial conference bridges are located in the Mid-West United States.

Secondly, a local NYC number provides a tremendous convenience for your participants because it is easier to remember.

And third, you will be able to save a small fortune if you obtain a flat rate service. For all intents and purposes, you have the best of both worlds — a local New York City call in number AND an unlimited usage billing plan.

Flat rate phone conferencing services offer you unlimited usage, 24/7. Your calls are not timed and you talk as long as you want, anytime you want. This is much different than the traditional conferencing business model that charges you on a per minute basis. So rather than multiplying the number of people times the number of minutes on a conference, with flat rate service you can budget your conferencing costs down to the penny.

So if you are a New York City (NYC) business or organization that is looking to cut travel and meeting costs, and are open to the idea of having more of your meetings over the phone to save time, this could be your answer. You can get a local NYC 212 conference call in number, along with unlimited flat rate service, and you’ve just saved a substantial amount of money. Not only that, but your conference participants (also known as conferees or guests) have the good fortune of avoiding long distance fees, and in effect, dialing a “toll free” number (because it’s local) that saves you from being billed per minute charges. You won’t need an 800 conference call service, because you and your NYC area participants are dialing local anyway.

Of course, if you have people outside of the New York City area who are dialing in, they can dial the 212 number as well. Also, if you want, you can get a toll free service to “ring to” your 212 conference number and provide an 800, 866, or 877 conference dial number to your out of town participants. The advantage: You’ll only pay the per minute costs of the those who use the toll free number, rather than everyone on your conference call. For example, 3 people can call the 800 number and get into the conference, while another 5 people dial 212. You only pay the per minute toll free cost for the 3 people who call the 800 number, which is usually less than 5 cents per minute, per caller.

Remember, even though it’s a 212 conference dial in number, you don’t have to actually dial 212 from New York City to access the conference bridge. You would just dial the normal 7-digit local number.

All in all, being located in the Big Apple and having a local 212 dial in number for conferences is convenient, cost effective and presents a very professional image. It’s something you need to take a look at if you are interested in controlling costs and providing an easier way for your associates and colleagues to communicate and collaborate.

Cape Town the City Bowl

Cape Towns Central Business District is better known as the City Bowl. It lies at the foot of Table Mountain and is bounded by Lions Head to the west, and Devils Peak to the east. The city centre is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by Table Bay Harbour and the V&A Waterfront. The City Bowl is a culturally varied and sophisticated district with superb restaurants, open air markets, historic buildings, and a vibrant night life in the bars and clubs of Loop and Long streets.

The City Bowl: Street by Street

This central part of Cape Town is quite compact and therefore custom-made for walking tours. St. Georges Mall is a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare with plenty of snack bars and coffee shops. Here you can be entertained by street musicians and dancers and also see displays of local art. St. Georges Cathedral, of Victorian Gothic design, is of historical significance in the struggle against apartheid; and Greenmarket Square is famous for its market, which dates back to 1806. Among other historical buildings surrounding this cobblestone square is the Old Townhouse. Long Street is a well preserved historic street lined with elegant Victorian buildings. Trafalgar Place, off Adderly Street, is famous for its flower sellers while Church Street is the place to go if youre looking for authentic antiques at competitive prices. Government Avenue is an oak-lined pedestrian boulevard that is one of the most serene walks in Cape Town. Towering 32 storeys over the City Bowl is the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel on Strand Street. Its bronzed-glass faade has become a landmark and the views from the top are fantastic.

Grand Parade and City Hall

This is one of the most historically important locations in Cape Town. It was here that Jan Van Riebeek built the first Dutch fort in 1652. For a long time it was a military parade and exercise ground; it then became a popular market area, and remains so today. The Cape Town City Hall that now dominated the Grand Parade was completed in 1905. It is an elaborate Italian Renaissance building, with elegant facades showing on four different streets. The 39-bell carillon tower was added in 1923. The Cape Town Philharmonic holds lunchtime and evening concerts here and its well worth attending, if you can get a ticket.

Nice Statue, But Who Is It?

Every community likes to honour significant people with statues, and Cape Town is no exception. As you tour the City Bowl, youll see quite a few monuments to people who played their parts in South African history. In Nobel Square you ought to be able to recognize the statues of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Full marks to you if you also recognize the likenesses of two other South African Nobel Prize recipients; Nkosi Albert Luthuli and F.W. de Klerk. But who are the other figures scattered around the City Bowl? Military hero Louis Botha is at Roeland and Parliament streets; Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias stands heroically at the roundabout at the Foreshore end of Heerengracht; Jan Hendrick, author of the South African Constitution, overlooks Church Square; and political leader Cecil Rhodes stands tall in the Company Gardens. Immortalized outside the Cape Town Train Station on Heerengracht are Jan Van Riebeek and his wife Marie de la Queillerie. There are two statues, at opposite ends of Government Avenue, of Jan Smuts, the controversial general and prime minister. A relatively short walk separates these two sculptures, but as with any other two points in the City Bowl, there is a lot to be seen in between.

City House in Leeds to contain Bruntwood offices in 2013

With offices to rent across the Midlands and North, Bruntwood is a family-owned company specialising in commercial property. Located in the heart of Leeds city centre, City House is a landmark tower which the company has just secured planning permission for.

City House is to contain 120,000 sq ft of Grade A, BREEAM Excellent office space after Bruntwood’s conversion work. From mid-2013, there will be 5,000 sq ft to entire floors of office space available to let. The 14-storey tower, standing directly on top of Leeds mainline train station, will contain office space to suit all business types from bespoke suites to flexible serviced office space. The redevelopment will see Bruntwood collaborating with Leeds City Council and Network Rail.

Craig Burrow, Director of Leeds for Bruntwood, said: “City House will benefit from meticulous design, precision craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure it impresses on every level. The building will be priced to appeal to a wide range of occupiers and our aim is to develop vibrant and well-functioning places that create the right environments for our customers to succeed.”

Improved access to the underground car park, remodelling the communal areas and pedestrian walkway and completely re-cladding the outside of the building are just some of the plans.

In July 2010, Bruntwood confirmed the acquisition of City House. A professional and friendly welcome will be guaranteed by a concierge-style service in the renovated mezzanine reception and the contemporary entrance area after the redevelopment.

It will also boast state-of-the-art serviced offices where occupiers can enjoy a range of business services. The convenient location of City Tower means a range of amenities will be on its doorstep, not to mention the short walk to the railway station and other transport options.

With a total ownership of 390,000 sq ft, Bruntwood has five buildings across Leeds. Developments such as 14 King Street and West One have been so popular that their portfolio is currently 99 per cent full. West One and City House also contain Leeds virtual offices. These give a small or new company the opportunity to use a high profile postal address for their business in Leeds city centre, at a fraction of the cost of renting a physical office. Making the best first impression with your clients is affordable and simple, thanks to mail forwarding and professional call answering in your company name.

NBA Draft – Hasheem Could Be Like a Dream in Okie City

Now that the NBA draft lottery has come and gone, and we know what order we’re looking at, I started to page through some of the latest mock draft info, because as you know, everybody has one.

It surprised me that one of the writers from Sports Illustrated had Hasheem Thabeet, the center from U-Conn who was the co-player of the year in the Big East, dropping to the sixth pick, where he would presumably be taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I refuse to believe he’ll last that long. In fact, a report out of Memphis says that the owner there, Michael Heisley, wants Thabeet in the worst way with the #1 pick, especially considering that Ricky Rubio, the teen sensation at point guard, is not very enthusiastic about being in a Grizzlies uniform (meaningful here, since he could just stay in Spain), even though everyone in the Memphis front office, except for Heisley, is very enthusiastic about Rubio.

If Thabeet doesn’t happen with #2, I can’t see him getting past the third pick, which belongs to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

To me, when you can acquire a genuine shot-blocker who has demonstrated the potential to improve on the offensive end, you have to take a very serious look at it. Thabeet brings something to the table that can’t be taught – pure height, along with the ability to swat away and alter shots, which will have the effect of pushing opponents outside with their offensive attack.

We already know that the Thunder has players who can put the ball in the basket. Kevin Durant has developed into a scoring machine, and last year’s Rookie of the Year shot for a much better percentage this past season. Russell Westbrook is a coming star, and the versatile Jeff Green is going to be a very good NBA player.

Oklahoma City, which was dormant under P.J. Carlesimo, showed a lot more effort after Scott Brooks took over as coach.

Tim Legler of ESPN says, “I don’t think you make a guy the third pick in the draft because you think he can be a great shot blocker and rebounder and anchor your defense.”

With all due respect to the former NBA player-turned-analyst, that’s nonsense. Great shot-blockers and rebounders and anchors of defenses don’t come along as often as some people think, and teams don’t get to the next level – the level that presumably Oklahoma City and general manager Sam Presti want to get to – unless they become very proficient on defense. That is what the Thunder lacks right now, and that is why the team was so despondent that the trade they made for Tyson Chandler last season as reversed. You think guys like Chandler, who are dependable in two of the most important aspects of a big man’s repertoire – rebounding and defense – last very long when choosing up sides?

Absolutely not. How many #3 overall picks, who supposedly could “do it all” or “fill it up” or whatever cliche-ridden description may have come forth from an analyst who was a member of the jockocracy, proceeded not to do any of that on a pro level? We know Thabeet is going to clog the lane, and if were the Thunder I would be happy to have him just take it from there, because there is an upside.

And when the subject of that upside is seven feet, three inches tall, I’d be more than willing to take a chance.
