The last 12 months have seen an influx of some of the biggest names in the supercar industry, into the country: Koenigsegg, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati, are all now available in India . In addition, the new F1 track, is a critical development in terms of infrastructure, and has helped augment the demand for super cars in India.
This recent influx of supercars in India can be attributed to the evolution of the Indian consumer, no longer are the HNI’s satisfied with showing off their affluence with jewels and lavish parties, now they want to make a statement but also own something that gives them a visible value. Indians have long been fascinated by cars, so what better way to make a statement than buying a super car……the loudest, sportiest, most powerful the better!
This trend speaks volumes about how these supercar manufacturers are looking at India as a mass moving market. The simple fact that these companies are targeting India the way they are, shows just how much power the Indian consumer now has on a global scale (even though he needs to pay more than twice as much for these masterpieces, given the current import duty.)
